GM Diet - Day 7

Welcome to the seventh and final day of the GM diet. Now going into day 7 GM diet, moving away from the protein component of the diet. You should be feeling very proud that you are about to compete the diet plan. At this stage, you should have realised the importance of being disciplined as the results should be evident to you yourself.

Day 7 in the GM diet, is simpler to follow than the past two days. There are subtle changes with the inclusion of rice, fruits & fruit juice in the diet plan. The seventh day is detailed as listed below:
  1. Rice - You may consume upto 2 cups of brown or white rice during the day.
  2. Vegetables- All vegetables as per day 2 gm diet plan. These ingredients may be boiled and seasoned with the 
  3. Fruits - All fruits as per gm diet day 1 plan. 
  4. Juice - You may have a glass of fruit juice for dinner
Day 7 is easier to plan and manage because the ingredients and the approach to the diet is very similar to day 1, day 2 and day 3. The diet should be fairly comfortable to follow through as you shouldn't be hungry at all.

Precautions: Being the last day, you might end up eating more than prescribed. Be careful not indulge as this stage because the GM diet plan was always meant to be the first step towards the healthy lifestyle you aspire to . GM diet exercise plan should be revisited regularly in order to compliment the new dietary habits that may be taken up going forward after the diet. GM Diet - Day 6

Welcome to the sixth day of the GM diet. Now going into day 6 of GM diet, we carry on with the protein component of the diet. As the penultimate day of the diet, it should be motivation enough the realize how much you've achieved and must be feeling very good about yourself at this stage.

Day 6 in the GM diet, unlike like day 5 provides more choices with regards to the choices of foods to consume, and the options are certainly filling. One may refer back to the initial GM diet plan, to ensure all the food items are available and prepare accordingly. The sixth day is detailed as listed below:
  1. Beef/Chicken - You may consume upto 2 patties of beef/chicken during the day. These may be cooked with appropriate seasoning in order to easily consume.
  2. Vegetables- All vegetables as per day 2 gm diet plan. These ingredients may be boiled and seasoned with salt.
Day 6 is easier to plan and manage as compared to the previous day since there is a lot more variety to choose from. The beef/chicken would provide an overall satisfying experience. Vegetarians may replace the beef/chicken with cottage cheese (paneer). Still, the issue remains of cooking the beef/chicken or the cottage cheese. You may try to make patties for either with enough seasoning to consume easily.

Precautions: Since you are consuming beef/chicken during the day with vegetables, leading to a lot of urea production in the body. To counter the build-up of the area, try to consume at least a litre of the water during the day to avoid any discomfort. GM diet exercise plan should be revisited regularly in order to see the best results but nothing should be overdone and put your overall health in jeopardy. At this stage, you may feel more confident to attempt to increase the intensity of the workouts.

GM Diet - Day 5

Welcome to the fifth day of the GM diet. Now going into day 5 GM diet there are going to be some additional changes from the previous day. The major change is the inclusion of the non vegetarian items i.e. beef/chicken. This day is for focusing on the protein component of the diet.

Day 5 in the GM diet, just like day 4 can be a little restrictive with regards to the choices of foods to consume, but the options are certainly filling. One may refer back to the initial GM diet plan, to ensure all the food items are available and prepare accordingly. The quantity is also restrictive. the fifth day is detailed as listed below:
  1. Beef/Chicken - You may consume upto 2 patties of beef/chicken during the day. These may be cooked with appropriate seasoning in order to easily consume.
  2. Tomatoes - Up to 6 tomatoes are recommended during the day. These can be consumed as a side dish. Season with salt to make it easier to consume if need be.
Day 5 needs to be planned particularly well since the menu items are a bit difficult to manage and consume. This is the day where one might get discouraged with the choices available, especially if the dieter is a vegetarian. Vegetarians may replace the beef/chicken with the cottage cheese (paneer). Still the issue remains of cooking the beef/chicken or the cottage cheese. You may try to make patties for either with enough seasoning to consume easily.

Day 4 in the GM diet, can be a little restrictive with regards to the choices of foods to consume, but the options are certainly filling. One may refer back to the initial GM diet plan, to ensure all the food items are available and prepare accordingly. The quantity is also restrictive. the fourth day is detailed as listed below:
  1. Bananas - You may consume upto 4 bananas during the day
  2. Milk - try to consume upto half a galon of milk. (It does no harm if you consume a little more)
Day 4 needs to be planned well in order to manage the quantity and ingredients well. You may start your day with a glass of milk with a single banana. During the lunch you may consume a banana shake  with 2 bananas and finally for dinner, again a banana and a glass of milk. Feel free to mix match. 

Precautions: Since you are consuming a lot of milk during the day, you may not feel thirsty, but certainly try to consume 3-4 glasses of the water during the day to avoid any hunger spells or any discomfort. GM diet exercise plan should be revisited in order to see best results but nothing should be overdone and put your overall health in jeopardy.

GM Diet - Day 3

Going in to the GM diet day 3 one must remind themselves that it has been a challenging couple days and day 3 is going to be much easier. Day 3 is a combination of day 1 & day 2 so there are more options to choose from going into the third day of the GM diet. The third of the GM diet is somewhat a milestone for the dieter because by the end of the third day the dieter may loose up to 3 kilos.

Day 3 in the GM diet, is a combination of day 1 and day 2. All fruits and vegetables can be consumed during the day with the exception of bananas and tomatoes. This day should be easy to follow as there are more choices to snack on during the day. This is another "all you can eat" day. Listed below are recommendations for food items to be consumed on day 3:

  1. Carrots
  2. Cucumbers
  3. Green vegetables like lettuce, celery, spinach, cabbage, cauliflower. These can be cooked or can be consumed as part of salads.
  4. Apples
  5. Grapes
  6. Watermelon
  7. Strawberries
Just like day1 & Day2, the main difference is the menu for the day. You may face similar challenges as the first 2 days but it should still be easier withe variety in the menu. the vegetables maybe consumed by boiling and seasoning. Eat at regular intervals in order to avoid hunger spells during the day

Precautions: You may start exercising or resume your workout routine slightly by going to simpler and less stressful routines in order to avoid to much effort as the body would be low on energy. It is recommended that you may work out in the morning itself. Also, drink plenty of water at regular intervals during the day. GM diet exercise would be the ideal combination in order to see best results but nothing should be overdone and put your overall health in jeopardy.

Day 2 in the GM diet, is all about the vegetables with the exception of tomatoes. It may as well be called "Mothers 'I told you so' Day". Our dear moms have been on our cases since we were babes, to eat our vegetables. Had we listened to her then, we probably would have not had to look at this diet plan in the first place. Hindsight is always 20-20. Coming back to the second of the GM diet. This is another "all you can eat" day. Listed below are recommendations for food items to be consumed on day 2:

  1. Carrots
  2. Cucumbers
  3. Green vegetables like lettuce, celery, spinach, cabbage, cauliflower. These can be cooked or can be consumed as part of salads.
  4. Potato (you may start your day with 1 potato with a teaspoon of butter and salt)
Just like day1, the main difference is the menu for the day. You may face similar challenges as the first day but it should still be easier than the first day because the second day allows more energy with the potato in the morning. Eat at regular intervals in order to avoid hunger spells during the day.

Precautions: You may start exercising or resume your workout routine slightly by going to simpler and less stressful routines in order to avoid too much effort as the body would be low on energy. It is recommended that you may work out in the morning itself. Also, drink plenty of water at regular intervals during the day. GM Diet - Day 1

This blog is intended to take the readers all the way through the GM diet plan, day by day so that the readers may follow along for any doubts or queries. The first day of the GM diet is about going hard at fruits. You are literally recommended to eat till you are full. There are hardly any exceptions here. There are various ways to achieve this plan however, the most generic and easy to follow approach would be to eat at regular intervals throughout the day. Not only will it help through the diet plan, but it is also a very healthy dietary habit.
Precautions: It advisable to avoid any physical exercise on the first day of the diet as you may be feeling light-headed or spells of dizziness. It is recommended that you consume water at regular intervals during the day in order to stay with the diet plan.



GM Day Plan - Prepare yourself

Just alike blank page scares a writer, any project can be daunting at the beginning. There are always unknowns that are never and frankly, can't be accounted for during the preparation stages. Especially on Day1, Day 2 & Day 3 the dieters are instructed to eat as many fruits & vegetables with the exception of the tomatoes & bananas. As a result, one needs to anticipate the quantity of food that may be required on each in order to avoid excuses for falling off the wagon. It is recommended to always have bite-size snacks, like grapes, in reach for these particular days.
  2. Side Effects: To be clear, the GM diet is first and foremost about the healthy loving by aiding overall detoxification of the body aiding in weight loss. GM Diet - Start living Healthy

The very famous GM diet was designed by the General Motors company fro its employees to promote awareness for a healthy lifestyle. It may have been just like any other initiative at the time but today, this is probably the most potent and healthy way to diet and lose weight within a week. The diet focuses on all major food groups each day and you need not starve yourself at any time during the day. Given below are the basic guidelines for each day of the week:


  1. GM Diet day 1 - The first day is all about preparing the body for what is to come in the following week. The first day is all about fruits. Eat as many as you like and as many as you can. Anything except bananas is allowed during the first day. 
  2. GM Diet day 2 - On day 2, the diet calls for vegetables. Anything goes besides tomatoes. Again, you may eat as much as you like during the day. You can start the day with a boiled/mashed potato to keep you going through the day.
  3. GM Diet day 3 -A combination of day 1&2. All you can eat buffet (fruits & vegetables). 
  4. GM Diet day 4 - You can only have milk and bananas
  5. GM Diet day 5 - .5 pounds of Beef and up to 6 tomatoes
  6. GM Diet day 6 - .5 pounds of beef and vegetables.
  7. GM Diet day 7 - two cups of white or brown rice during the day along with fruits and vegetables as in day 1 & day 2.
